Second round of chemo

We just got back from Houston MD Anderson today. My Mom's second round of chemo infusions went well. All her blood work came back clean except for her potassium levels. They were a little low. She will have to take potassium supplements now until they say otherwise. The potassium helps with the heart, so it is important to get those levels back to normal.

We had a late night with her first infusion. We were there at the hospital for chemo from 3pm to about 10:30pm that night. She had to get 2 hours worth of potassium after her chemo. Then we had to come back the next morning at 7:15am for her next infusion. We both thought we should have just slept at the hospital.

The doctor and the nurse thought my Mom looked great!! They were very pleased with her appearance, weight, blood work and her minimal side effects. She has mostly just had severe fatigue, but the last few days says she has felt great! So overall the trip to Houston went well. We are headed back in 12 days for round 3 of chemo. This will be the last round of the chemo cycle, then my Mom will get rescanned to check on the tumor and to make sure it has not spread anywhere else. So this will happen around the end of July! That is the true measure to make sure the chemo drugs are working.
