Here is a look at Derek’s ankle from yesterday at the Doctor’s office. They said it was a severe sprain with strained ligaments. They placed him in a walking boot for 2 weeks, and then he will have to have it X-rayed again to make sure it is nothing else.
It is still pretty swollen as you can tell, and Derek said that it hurt a little more today than it had been from walking around. Derek tried to sell the crutches to the Doctor but he was not interested.
The Doctor did say that he should be able to start running in about a month and riding a bike in about 2 weeks. So that is good news! As of right now Derek will be able to do the Nike Marathon!!! So we are both happy about that!
