Update 6.17.07

Good Evening,

Last week we went to Houston for my Mom’s testing. She had her testing for her chemo. She completed all 9 weeks of her last chemo treatment, and it was time for her testing to determine whether it was working for her. Unfortunately, it was not the news we had hoped and prayed for. Her test results showed that the cancer had grown and her tumor marker was higher. The cancer unfortunately was stronger than the chemo; despite the horrible side effects my Mom had endured for the last nine weeks.

As of right now options are limited. There is another chemo that she could do, but the doctor could not tell us if it is the right choice. He is not sure how much it will attack the tumor. My Mom’s body has been enduring chemo for a year now, and he is not sure how much more it can endure. The decision has not been made whether she will do this next chemo or not. We head back to the doctor in Houston next week to decide what to do next.

Whatever decision my Mom chooses to make is her decision. She has been through so much over these past 15 months, and her courage and strength have been tremendous. Most people would have stopped treatments from the side effects she has endured, but not her. She has finished every treatment in stride and she has still maintained her humor and smile through it all. Most people would have given up, but not my Mom.

Time is limited now. It is hard to say that to be quite honest with all of you. I still have to have faith that my Mom will be ok. She is my Mom.

I apologize for sharing this news over email, but I cannot make all the phone calls. Please continue for my Mom’s body to heal and for her strength.

Love –
Crystal
